Our award-winning centre!

Washington Square, Workington’s award-winning pedestrianised shopping centre, opened in 2005 and provides a big city shopping experience in the heart of our local town. A mix of famous high street stores and local businesses, we cater for all your shopping needs. From fashion to home accessories and beauty products to tasty treats, we’re a haven of retail therapy!

Retailers range from Debenhams, River Island, JD Sports, Next, Pandora, DW Sports and HMV, to locally owned Sinclairs Jewellers and Akitts. Enjoy refreshments at Greggs, Costa Coffee, Muffin Break or treat yourself to a Domino’s Pizza; relax in the artistic Hub and Look Out Clock; explore the history of our street names; park in the adjacent (and accessible) multi-storey car park. Don’t forget to take a stroll down Jane Street and support your local retailers.

Reaching Washington Square couldn’t be easier…

The centre is easily accessible from the A66, A595 and A596. Once in Workington, follow the signs for ‘Town Centre’ and ‘Parking’. If travelling by car, the postcode is CA14 3DX.

If travelling by bus, the X4, X5 and number 40 all stop outside the centre.
